Victor Ikpeba, the 1997 African Footballer of the Year, has announced that the fourth edition of his Victor Ikpeba 5-A-Side soccer tournament will honour the late Dapo Sotunumi, a respected journalist who passed away unexpectedly last week. Ikpeba described Sotunumi as a steadfast supporter who had inspired him to organize the tournament.

"It’s painful that we had bigger plans for this event, and suddenly he’s no longer with us. This dedication is a small way to appreciate his unwavering contributions," Ikpeba shared. The under-20 tournament will run from December 17th to 21st at De Cloud Arena near Warri, Delta State.

The competition will award cash prizes to the top three teams ₦350,000 for first place, ₦200,000 for second, and ₦100,000 for third. Organizers encourage interested teams to register, with the tournament draw date to be announced soon.
