Nicki Minaj is not afraid to admit when she has messed up — just ask Diddy's son, Justin Combs, 29. 

The 40-year-old Pink Friday rapper admitted during a recent Instagram Live (captured by 9 Mag TV) that she felt bad about being 'mad late' to Combs' sweet 16. 

His birthday party was featured on the MTV series My Super Sweet Sixteen in 2010. 

After Justin commented 'Hi' in the Instagram Live chat, the Starships singer said, 'I went to your Sweet 16 with you, right?'

She continued with, 'Yo, what was that like me being your Sweet 16 date? I know I was mad late

Moving on: The Barbie World rapper owned up to her past mistake, apologizing to Diddy's son and recounting how she did end up having a fun time that night 

The Trinidadian-born music artist remembered how she felt that night — 'I can't remember much but I felt like I just knew that Puffy and Misa [Justin's mother] were so mad at me.' 

Ultimately she owned up to her mistake and apologized (in her own fashion) to the Power Book II: Ghost star, saying, 'I could feel [Justin's parents being mad at me] and I was so mad at myself ‘cause all of the dresses I had been trying on that day, I hated every single one. I felt horrible y'all. I felt really horrible.' 

Alls well that ends well though, as the petite powerhouse recalled how she ended up having a fun time that night anyway. 

'He was trying to get cute in the limo y'all. Anyway, but yes I had a great time and he was so fun and funny and very cute, too,' she joked. 

The Other Woman star, who announced in June that Pink Friday 2 had been delayed to this November, added, 'I can't believe to this day that I went with him to his Sweet 16.'

The light-hearted exchange on social media a far cry from the football player's DUI arrest back in June. 

The executive producer on The Crew League was ultimately released on $5,000 bail. 

He is one of seven kids that Diddy shares with four different women. 

Although he's not one to post frequently on social media, the actor and executive producer shared a sweet snap back in January with his baby sister Love Combs, captioning the post with, 'My twin.'

After joking about how Justin tried to get 'cute' in the limo when they were on their way to his Sweet 16 party, the Bang Bang rapper quipped that she responded with, 'Who is you talking to boy?'

She revealed the reason why she was shocked that she ended up as his Sweet 16 date was because Justin told her at the time that, 'it was a movie [date.]'

 With her typical trademark snarky humor, the Barbershop: The Next Cut star noted, 'I wonder who was his girlfriend at that time 'cause I know she probably was really mad.'

'Why he ain't take her for his Sweet Sixteen?' the wig-loving entertainer joked.
