Caring for delicate embroidered tunics requires a gentle approach to preserve both the fabric and the intricate stitching. Look for the washing instructions on the garment as it will provide the manufacturer’s recommended instructions. If the label is missing or unclear, assume the garment is hand wash only. Avoid using a washing machine or dryer for embroidered pieces, as the agitation and heat can loosen threads, stretch the fabric, or damage the embroidery.

For manual cleaning, use cool or lukewarm water and a mild detergent designed for delicate fabrics. Steer clear of chlorine, fabric conditioners, and strong detergents, as they can discolor or weaken the threads. Gently swirl the tunic in the water without twisting, rubbing, or wringing. Allow a brief soak of 10–15 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with clean, cool water until all soap residue is gone.

Once rinsed, carefully press excess water out by laying the tunic flat on a clean towel and تونیک زنانه خانگی rolling it up gently. Never suspend the tunic by its shoulders, as the weight of the water can distort the shape and pull on the embroidery. Place it on a clean, flat surface or mesh rack, in a shaded area, away from direct sunlight, which can fade colors over time.

While drying, reshape the tunic to its original form, paying attention to the neckline, sleeves, and hem. When the fabric is partially dry, you can lightly steam it using a garment steamer on a low setting, keeping the nozzle at least six inches away from the fabric. Do not apply an iron to the stitched patterns. If you must iron, place a thin cotton cloth over the design and use the lowest heat setting.

Always fold embroidered garments rather than hanging them to prevent stretching. Place archival tissue in creases to reduce creasing and place them in a clean, dry drawer or storage box away from moth repellents that could stain or damage the fabric. Never store in sealed polyethylene, which trap moisture and can cause mildew.

If you notice a loose thread, do not pull it. Carefully re-anchor it from the reverse side using fine thread. Examine stored tunics monthly for deterioration, especially in storage. With patience and care, your delicate embroidered tunics can remain beautiful and wearable for many years.
