With any character-based title, there's always a "meta" that forms, be it from the developers or the players. From a development perspective, how do you work with the meta that is inevitably going to arise in Overwatch?

[Aaron Keller] I don't know the exact headcount of the team. It's under one-hundred people, and it probably started closer to thirty or forty people before we ramped up to where we are now. The cool thing about the team is that everyone on it is such a high performer and so great at what they do. We have a core value at Blizzard called "Every Voice Matters," and a lot of people on the team are really passionate and outspoken, not just about [Overwatch] itself, but about things they'd like to see in the game. I think we have a really good collaborative environment where people feel like they can throw ideas out there and they'll be listened to. That's how we get a lot of personality into the game; our heroes have come from all over the place.

Symmetra's first ability, her Sentry Turrets, allow her to place up to six turrets around the map. Once an enemy steps within range, these turrets will fire a continuous beam of medium-damage energy until that foe either dies or steps out of range. While these turrets are exceptionally easy for enemies to kill, they can be hidden in creative locations and grouped together to maximize effectiveness. Her second ability, Photon Shield, allows her to grant extra hitpoints to teammates within range. While shields will not heal those who are critically injured, equipping an entire team with them before a big push can certainly give you an edge. Finally, her ultimate, Teleporter, is one of the biggest game-changing abilities in all of Overwatch. By placing the Teleporter somewhere on the map, a second portal is opened up at the spawn point, allowing teammates to bypass that potentially long journey back to the objective. Not only can this assist your team in reaching an capture point quicker, but it makes escorting a payload a relative breeze considering it's possible to always have one person moving it forward.

Hanzo's weapon, the Storm Bow, has a damage output that increases based on the amount of tension on its string, which can be controlled by holding down the fire button. Quick shots, while weak, are certainly great for short range encounters, though it should be noted that effective Hanzo players are going to want to stay behind allies who shoot a bit more rapidly. Where this sniper becomes absolutely fatal is through his fully charged shots, which can take massive chunks off of the health bars of every enemy they come in contact with. However, this power comes at a price, as Hanzo's shots have an arc to them, so long range shots must be aimed above their targets in order to make contact.

We'd be lying to you if we said that we weren't absolutely stoked for Overwatch, the upcoming hero-shooter from Blizzard. The combination of tight shooting, frenetic team-based combat and some downright awesome design decisions have made Overwatch potentially the most promising multiplayer shooter of the decade thus far. With Early Access to Overwatch's Open Beta beginning at 4PM PST tonight (the flood gates officially open to the public on May 5), we caught up with Assistant Game Director Aaron Keller to learn the answers to all of our pressing questions.

Yesterday evening (December 1st, at the time of writing this) was the night of the annual Game Awards show, a lavish live-streamed spectacle where the best and brightest of the video games industry gathered in Los Angeles - in order to receive awards voted on by industry peers and journalists, celebrating the year in gaming. It was a good night for big-name hits like Uncharted 4: A Thief's End , the reboot of DOOM and Blizzard's mega-selling team shooter **Overwatch ** , as well as respected independent titles like That Dragon Cancer - and it was a chance for those in attendance to show off all-new trailers for upcoming tit

Yes, we know that it's only ever high noon once a day, but that doesn't stop McCree from uttering his catchphrase at all times of the day. Aside from the fact that McCree memes are the greatest thing known to man, this offensive hero has the potential to be one of the most lethal killers on the battlefield when used correctly (which is actually quite tough). His weapon, the Peacekeeper, is excellent at doing massive damage with both of its firing modes. The standard left click the next internet page fires single-shot revolver bullets that are extremely accurate and eliminate a ton of its target's health with every shot. However, if you're more interested in getting up close and personal, McCree's secondary fire allows him to rapidly empty the rest of his clip, though the massive upward recoil makes this extremely difficult to control at first.

class=Soldier: 76's abilities are both simple and incredibly useful. His main, low-cooldown ability, Sprint, is exactly what it sounds like: a dedicated button that allows him to run fast. Outside of heroes like Lucio and Tracer, who have dedicated techniques that allow them to move fast, Sprint allows Soldier: 76 to escape battle quicker than the vast majority of heroes out there. If you're someone who despises the fact that Overwatch doesn't have a dedicated sprint function, this might just be the character for you. In addition to this, his other main ability, Biotic Field, enables him to place a small healing area on the ground around him, giving him the chance to regain health and get back into a fight right away. Finally, Soldier: 76's ultimate ability, Tactical Visor, gives him a few seconds of automatic, 100% accuracy aiming (yes, this is a straight up aimbot), and is perfect for eliminating a host of defenders on a given objective. Needless to say, if you're looking for the most balanced hero of the entire roster, you should give Solder: 76 a hard look.
