The official list below lists the time slots that are reserved - not exams that have been confirmed. It is important to confirm with your instructor if the final exam for the course will be conducted during this time.

Locations

The Exam Schedule lists the locations in which DEP conducts operator qualification exams. Exam pages for each exam are available for additional guidelines, terms and conditions and exam information. If you require special accommodations due to chronic illness, hearing or visual impairment, or any other disability make contact with the exam provider and provide the documents when you register.

Faculty may find their exam times via the "View My Teaching Schedule" task on the Faculty Dashboard in Workday. Additionally, the Registrar's Office has a list of exam times for courses in which an exam is required by NYSED regulations. Final exams for evening classes are scheduled during the regular class meeting times of the final exam weeks.

Please take note that the Projected University Examination Schedule is only a guideline and that exam dates are subject to change.

Registration

The exam schedule is accessible online and students are encouraged to review it. It is important to note that the schedule for exams can be altered at any time. Therefore, students should consult their instructors to ensure that they have the correct date and time for their exam. Students should be sure to print the official list and bring it to their exams.

Students should also familiarize themselves with the guidelines and terms of the exam, in addition to the schedule. These are available on the individual exam page. Students acknowledge having read and accepted the terms and conditions upon registration.

Exam locations will do their best to accommodate those with special requirements. The nature and severity of these needs should be stated on the registration form and confirmed by a physician's attestation. The exam locations must also adhere to confidentiality.

If a student has three examinations scheduled for the same day it is suggested to contact their department or instructor to schedule an alternate exam. While it is possible to take three tests in a single day, this can cause an increase in stress levels and affect the quality of the exam. The professor might not be able give an additional test to make up for the missed day.

Before taking the exam Students must prepare for the exam by reviewing their study material and practicing their German skills. The exam is a paper test that measures your ability to read and write German. The exam results are presented on a scale from A1 to C2. Students who pass the exam are awarded an Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate documents attainment of the language level egzamin praktyczny a1. This level corresponds to the first level of the six-level scale of competence that is set out in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The exam is free of cost. Students must carry a valid government ID to the exam. Those who do not have an acceptable photo ID are disqualified from the exam.

Fees

You must pay an exam fee for the opportunity to receive the Goethe-Zertifikat (start German 1) after you have completed your Elan Academy studies. This is in addition to the cost of the course.

Practice assessments provide you with an overview of the format of the questions, their wording and the difficulty of the questions on the exam. They allow you to assess your level, discover areas of knowledge that aren't covered and increase your chances of passing the test.

Please note that the exam fee is not refundable. Exam results can only be accessed via email, not via telephone.
